When I visit the favorite opponents section, there are the names with no. of games written beside them. Almost I find the no. wrong in case of every opponent as the total no. of games played is way more than the no. showed. So are they shown wrong and if not, then how they are counted?

It might be like that because some of the games you played with your opponents might be casual not rated.

Well, I just checked out the games of some opponents and when filtering ( all the games were rated ), and if there would be ( not in my case ), subtracting them from rated ones still have a high no. of games than shown.

It shows favorite opponents of recent 1000 games played. I tried contacting one of lichess developers few years ago about this issue and he said that there was this limit for a reason (I guess not to overhelm database or something)

@risky-chess
But it would require a compete search algorithm in games of user by using loop. It would take time for sure and would be slighty ineffcient but not wrong in this case. Nevertheless, I don't require the feature at all but was just telling.
