If you want some help regarding the network, we'll be glad to help you out. There is also a program that tells you whether the problem is from your side or not, go here: https://lichess.org/lag
Regarding the safety, you may also enable two-factor authorization here: https://lichess.org/account/twofactor
I also suggest you to change the password & make it into a stronger one: https://lichess.org/account/passwd
If you still feel unsafe, go to: https://lichess.org/account/security
And remove all others than the current one.
And well, the founder is @Thibault, we trust him as he has promised to us that he will provide us a free, open-source Lichess forever.

@Bishop190 Well, I don't know whom is the wrong god you are worshiping with. Compared with Chess.com the site is better and free, but the cost is your security...

Well, I did not say the site is insecure. Given you follow all the rules. My fellow guy promised to create a new account that they will not find (and did it) and caused a hacker attack on my PC which has no relation to lichess account at all. I was surprised.

Lichess is where we play chess

@murvex Do I get this right: You believe, Lichess started a hacker attack on your PC which has no relation to Lichess at all, because your fellow IP sharer did not follow all rules?

@sheckley666 Exactly. I could not clear cookies until he closed his browser session. BTW he was playing on Chess.com and did not log in to lichess, but lichess still tracked him by IP. When I clicked open the "Clear recent history ..." window on my computer having no relation to lichess at all it was immediately closed not allowing me to clear cookies. I call it a hacker attack on my computer from some lichess employee.

If you don't like this site , then maybe you shouldn't play on it!

@murvex that has never happened to me and I have played on lichess.org for over a year and other have played on it for longer. It is unlikely that a lichess employee would hack a random user, but I guess any thing can happen although I dont think lichess.org employees are deliberately hacking lichess users. Besides I this was happening with some frequency there would be some outcry. In addition I have seen hackers on chess.com too. Hackers can be on any website at any place at any time so I dont think one incident means that lichess.org users are willingly sacrificing their computers to be hacked at the whim of lichess.org employees to play free chess and follow some thibaultism.
