Should i read my life and games by Tal and try to copy his repetoire?

"My life and games" is an excellent book and you should read it!
It may help you build your opening repertoire...
However Kasparov played the scotch opening quite some times, and he was a great attacker too, so maybe the opening is not your real problem.
"... A typical way of choosing an opening repertoire is to copy the openings used by a player one admires. ... However, what is good at world-championship level is not always the best choice at lower levels of play, and it is often a good idea to choose a 'model' who is nearer your own playing strength. ..." - FM Steve Giddins (2008)
Ive been reading it on and off for close to a year, never seriously studying though - just to browse through a few games. I played through game 28 Tal - Fischer 1959 last night in fact. I like the games in Tal's books. The positions arising from them are interesting and never come up in my games(which makes them more interesting). I like the prose and the background info in the book too. I recommend it.
Greatest book ever. You shouldn't try copying Tal though (unless you really can). :)
Yes, you should. You should also start dressing up like him and grow your hair out as much as possible in your later years. Shave the top part and fold one side over, like this.

Study Chess With Tal is another nice book' ... Tal's problems were his smoking also & various health problems & Korchnoi who would defend against his attacks or counterattack well vs Tal Later there was Karpov but yes Tal won a WC Match vs Botvinnik ... People don't realize he knew so much about Endings as well
