Classical

Why is playing classical chess is so unrated although it improves your chess and you probably makes less blunders
No, Classical is very important to improve chess. It can be played in Causal and Rated mode on Lichess.
and yes, it makes less blunders.
A lot of people just dont have the patience for it I guess. I prefer rapid and classical myself, because I like to think about my moves. In a 90/30 classical game you can take 10 minutes if you need to on a critical position, as opposed to just giving it a few minutes or less. That said i usually just play 15/10 or 30/20 time controls.

I played what the young-ins call classical time control.

I had to use my intelligence to reconstruct history, as I myself did not remember whether it was 90/30 or 90/60.

Logically it was 90/60. We play on wind-up clocks. I still have a Jerger (extinct). You set 90 by the minute hand on 30 minutes. Once it passes 12:00, the flag drops. You can't fiddle with the clock. So it has to run around the dial twice again.

Classical time control was 90/60. I remembered one game I played, we took 5 hours.
May be a lot of reasons.

You play one game after the other during your spare time, very pleasant
You lose a game, you have time to win the next one
You do not need to think, so it is not tiring
You don't have 5 hours to play
New players forget that chess is a thinking game
Quality is not a priority
It is addictive playing 10 games within one hour
Our modern periode tell us to do things rapidly
Most of the youngsters prefer to live in the moment
Nobody told them that classical games are helpful
Playing fast games is like an addiction
Mistakes make the game more dynamic with exciting reversals

Adding to sholmes' list I think people copy the pros and streamers and look what they are doing. For professionals classical is boring because it's almost 100% a draw so they play faster chess. They don't need the time to think in order to play good chess anyways so they don't lose out on the beautiful moves that we scrubs can only find in classical. On the other hand with streamers there's the problem of who's going to watch a long ass classical game. It's too long for it to be fun for most people, after all when you are watching chess you don't really need to think like when playing chess. All the time spent thinking is just wasted time for streamers so they play fast chess where you don't need to think.
For playing 90/30 you either play against a friend or have to wait some time in the lobby until someone accepts (I played 15/15 yesterday and one time I had to wait 2 minutes or so)
@guillage yeah you are absolutely right. Actually we should follow these people just only to learn tricks and chess opeanings. it is useless to watch people playing chess expecilally those bullet games instead we should play classical chess and study some chess games.
