Like learning Chess & am not interested in playing games?

I like learning chess and just hate to play games am I alone in this aspect?
You are correct in what you say. I am no match for the computer or much of the chess world so just like to watch.
Nobody is a match for a computer, as for playing is it time constraint that you find difficult? thought process? something else?
Or is it just boring.
@casperVIII

No, you are not alone.
I know someone that appears to love chess more than the average player, but doesn't like to play.

I tried getting to the bottom of the vacuum, where a drive and compulsion to line up the pieces should be, but I failed.

Some people truly appreciate chess, study, do puzzles, follow events, but somehow just don't have that addictive compulsion to play the actual game.

99% of the people that love certain sports the most, sometimes even more than the athletes themselves, don't actually play the game themselves. It's unimaginable to me, but I suppose there is no good reason why this shouldn't also apply to chess.
Do you hate to play online-chess only, or also against someone you can see, hear and smell?
@Sarg0n: judging from the forum ... there are more exhibitionists on lichess than voyeurs... behaving like hens that have dropped an egg ... "now I have reached 2000!!!" ..."I beat an opponent 300 above me!!!" and so on ... and so on ....
why do people who don't play chess bother watching? i play chess and i rarely watch guys play, and if i do, i get bored within a couple minutes... much more interesting to analyze a master or good game, pick up some learning. but for watching - like watching paint dry or grass grow.
