After travelling back to Romania, the game that triggered your ELO rise (and dare I say the start of a friendship!) was a draw with black with a 1400 rated patzer in your "beloved" Alapin :))

This is factually correct. Our game was the first one in 2021, and my first classical game after scoring that "beautiful" -53 Elo a few months prior...

Still, the overarching feeling is that of pride, for tackling something that is deemed difficult to improve at, especially as an adult, and showing meaningful improvement over the time period.
I would estimate that during these 16 years I got coaching for less than a year, so I would attribute most of my success to my own desire for improvement, while also recognizing the positive contributions that coaching has brought to my game.
