Notification Sound when a game begins

In tournaments, when waiting to be matched, I tend not to look at my screen. Sometimes it happens that a game is aborted due to me being too late to make a first move, unaware that the game had started.

Therefore, I would like to request a sound notification when the game starts (even when the sound option is set to silent).

You need to enable it on your own devices browsers.
It's not an Lichess issue.
For more info, read this link:

I once asked a similar question, but I didn't understand the reply at first,

Hope this helps with clarification.

Thank you for the suggestion, but this is not the issue for me. Lichess does not play a sound at the beginning of a tournament game at all (when silent mode is chosen, I don't want other sounds).

@Mark97 Are you sure this isn't your browser that prohibit the sound?
(irregardless of phone/computer browser type)
I get no sound either at the start, irregardless if I play a single game or tournament game. So the issue sounds similar.
This is only when I make a move, that sound is added.

As far as I understand, If you want sound to be added at the start, you should enable it through your browser settings.
(By allowing Lichess to enable autoplay)
It's your browser that prevents sound to autoplay. For security reasons.

If Lichess was to do something about this, they would need to create a specific cookie.
Lichess however, would probably think this is too intrusive for users, who doesn't want autoplay, and also possible, it creates a open door for other sites, other than Lichess, to also have enabled sound automatically. Like advertisements (if you have multiple fans open on various sites)

If you go and accept autoplay from Lichess, through your browsers settings, then sound should appear on Lichess at the start of a game.

(I I have understood autoplay correctly, enabling this, would not remove your Lichess settings regarding other types of notifications)

@NaturalBornTraveller thank you for the responses. I've checked, and autoplay is enabled in my browser. The problem, it seems, is that I choose sound to silent in the lichess options (below your user name in the top right corner), this puts aparently EVERYTHING to silent without giving the user the possibility to specify which sounds.
