When space science is the topic, who thinks about Carl Sagan?

He labored over mission designs and planetary science for Venus and Mars in the 60s and 70s laying the groundwork for so much knowledge we take for granted now.

I watched his science program Cosmos when it was first broadcast. We did not have cable then. I watched the telecast by an extremely poor tv station air signal. The visual reception was reduced to indistinct shapes, the audio was very good. And it was worth it to hear Sagan discuss the development of the scientific method and landmark achievements through the ages.

Staring up at the stars and saying " There must be hundreds and hundreds of them"
