The sound of a checkmate scares me.

The sound of a checkmate gives me a heart attack, especially when it's unexpected. I want to silence it, but I also want to hear the sound of the other pieces.

Fr, I have nightmares about it

Sound of berserk seems much more scary to me.

In fact, though having played thousands of games, I couldn't describe what mating sounds like. Nothing special obviously to my ears.

I usually make my own sound when I checkmate someone

...but the game start sound hurts my soul. It's so freakin loud

me too, i think its just like a normal move sound

@The_Chess_Corner I play chess with music blasting thru my headphones, so it smashes my brain every time....I could mute this site, but playing chess with no board sounds is weird lol
