new variant of chess

Other day I had an idea of new interesting variant of chess.

What if each side had more than 1 move per turn?

If it was 2 moves per turn it would give white more advantage, so we start with white having 1 move, then black can have 2 moves on their turn and then white have 3 and so on. Amount of moves increasing by 1 on each turn.

One piece can have consecutive moves in one turn as long as it doesn't jump on a square that is under attack from enemy piece or a square where it performs a check.

Also each side dont have to use all of their moves per turn.

I tried to play this against myself on a board editor and it seems like totally different game but kind of interesting

  • Edit: Would be nice feature if more than 1 person could cooperate on a board editor to try it out

This is close to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_chess.

Another variant is like pocket knight (https://www.chessvariants.com/other.dir/pocket.html), but you have other pieces in the "pocket". An interesting pocket pieces would be the king, so you could give away your original one. This is close to pocket mutation chess (https://www.chessvariants.com/large.dir/pocketmutation.html).

Another variation of mutation chess would be if, on your move, you could "capture" your own piece and replace it with another piece which has the combined power of the two pieces.

Cooperating on a board editor/analysis board is a great idea, and an easy chat would improve it.

Sorry for pushing my own ideas here instead of creating a new thread, but this seems easier for everyone.

That's very interesting. Have you played any of these variations of chess?

@knightMover65
I've played the known variants. I've learned about them through the program Zillions of Games. It's a decent game, but I prefer the use the clone ChessV.
