Where is the "Add your own engine" button? I can't even find the options to DL stockfish 16 or DL the latest version of it. The analysis board gear button menu doesn't have these options, regardless of whether the engine is turned on or not.

Things may have changed since version 0.0.5.
I didn't realize, this is logging in thru the desktop app, not lichess.org interface. I found it and got it working.
Cant wait to use stockish 17 on lichess
