I second that, @somerapidplayer ! I just got onboard for the last four rounds of LW (thanks to IM John Bartholomew's amazing videos) and am for the first time feeling this wonderful community spirit. Am now signed up to both leagues and the series, and am having a blitz detox for a while to sort out my slower games. Two to three games a week and training the rest of the time.

I live in Bali and have no chess community here at all, and while I'm not particularly lonely in my daily life, I am very lonely in my chess life. Having my teammates giving me a hard time for my time management, and marveling at the wonders of my weird pet line against the Caro Kann have made all the difference in the world to my days and weeks. Thanks @baberle for this wonderful article, beautifully written!

You've probably been here a lot longer than me, but when I first discovered the league in Jan/February? after just starting to play chess again, I too was pretty amazed. I probably never enjoyed chess more than I have since discovering it.
