This opening is just stupid, a bit tricky but it is all. if you play it you should ask yourslf.
Because they find it fun is my guess.
So if it's so bad, stop complaining!
Nobody ever played that against me, also what even is the Stafford gambit?

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 Nc6
Popularised by IM Eric Rosen. I've never played it but it seems to be quite dangerous for the unprepared even if it's unsound.

Talk about why players don't play 1. f3 instead!
I see the opening a lot. Sometimes I accept it, sometimes I decline. If you accept the gambit, it's best for white to not try to hold on to the pawn. Just continue on with development. Here's a link to a study of the gambit - :] @Jean-Michel-Pigeon

Well, now you gave me another gambit to look up... Obviously I don't play it, but now there might be a lot more players using it... ut-oh...
#8 If you play 1.e4...often, you will eventually have to play against it. - :]
