Is Chess a sport or a game?

Why "or"? "And"!

It depends on the definition. If sport is defined as say "training & competition" which it is usually is, then it is a sport for sure.

If you define sport as wobbling with arms and legs then it is not.
Sport? No. Chess isn't a physical activity like football, baseball, etc.

Sport or sports includes all forms of competitive physical activity or games which, through casual or organised participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical ability and skills while providing enjoyment to participants, and in some cases, entertainment for spectators.
u train in chess the central nervous system which can be used
in different sports or activities from cricket to pull ups, even
for physical combat although there is no war nowadays,
if u notice how strong players usually talk and think they are usually quite serious and cautious like Spassky, although there are nice personalities like Anand that despite suffocating the adversary on the chess board, they still look very friendly
and newbies and weak players like me usually have a tendency to chill out, although some more than others, that its a pattern
I dont know if it is a right pattern but I think in general the better the player the more serious usually he is, this is because he is usually handling bigger stress conditions in the 64 boards squares, now, how true is all this, well I am not sure I am not a scientist but I do think that some part of the brain is worked dont know if its the central nervous system, but something quite fundamental, like the spine.
Thank you all for your respond/opinion on this tread. Nice to see and know your opinion.

I hope more will post their opinion here.

Regards to all,
