Its amazing how many times I have won with this trap...
2. ... d6 and 3. ... d5 loses a valuable tempo. Simply bad, either way.
woah this trap is cool
@Sarg0n Agreed that this Sicilian line makes little sense, but the critical position can be reached via the Advanced Caro-Kann [where Black wastes a tempo on playing c5 in two moves instead of d5]:
1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 c5 4.c3 Nc6 5.Nf3 Bg4 6.dxc5 Nxe5?? 7.Nxe5! Bxd1 8.Bb5+
It's actually a quite decent trap, in that Black's losing move is rather natural, but if Black plays something else, White still has a good, sound position.

#1 More amazing is the times I've lost with this trap.
Yes black wastes a tempo by playing d6 and then d5
The trap is usually reached by 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3. c3 Bg4 4. d4 cxd4 5. cxd4 Nc6 6. d5 Ne5 7. Nxe5!
I saw the possibility of setting up the trap in the game position...
Black playing Bg4 is the key to the entire thing...

After 6...a6 or 6...e6 black is all right.
CK move order:
Let me tell you a secret: the GM-precise move order is 5. Nf3 cxd4! 5.cxd4 Bg4 with good play. So waiting for this "trap" with 4.c3 is not optimal.
