bobby fischer: chess nazi | behind the bastards

I just saw that one of my favourite podcasts did a few episodes on bobby fischer.

I am not going to listen to it until Israel recognizes Palestine as a state and teaches me how to cook matzah balls.

I lost interest when they started mispronouncing Najdorf's name as Nadge-Dorf. Seriously?

BtB cover a lot of different people, they are more experts in comedy or entertainment than the people they cover. definitely not chess experts. I guess Mia read a book on bobby fischer and their self appointed job is to talk about the bad parts of fischer in an entertaining way.

I think this is probably the worst episode I've heard from BtB. Their timing and playing off each other was terrible, talking over the top of each other, gaps of silence. oh well.

I believe you, but this podcast has been going on for a while (just looked it up, since 2018). the main dude was from the cracked magazine/website, I just looked up his wikipedia page, he looks like a pretty serious investigative journalist. He's been around the block once or twice, has a better understanding of the world and people than most I reckon.

I like his humour, anyway. but fischer wasn't the best episode I've heard.

I like Behind the Bastards, but I think this was not a very good episode. They ruled out of hand that Bobby Fischer suffered from a mental illness, but that seems quite possible to me. It was interesting though.
