London system move order

I still like to play d4 from time to time... I' m sometimes in the mood for a boring positional game... it has its meditative qualities like taking a nap...

@Delpire why do you think 1.e4 is better? I used to play 1.e4 and switched to 1.d4 (now 1.Nf3) because I found 1.e4 too dull at the time, and I occasionally play the London (only against certain setups) and it's a perfectly fine opening. Just saying that not everyone should be playing 1.e4 if it's not what they like.

@Sarg0n that's what 3.c4! is for. Not too hard to play both the LS and QID

#14, a real LS aficionado would rather cut off one of his fingers than to play c2-c4... ;)

I completely switched to 1. ... g6 (instead of KID-like 1. ... Nf6) because nowadays they all play the London.

1.d4 g6 2.Nf3 (hesitating) Bg7 3.Bf4? d6 4.e3 Nd7! followed by e7-e5 and Black is more than ok.

@Sarg0n I having the hardest time of my life trying to understand how you got the CM title, and saying Bf4 is a bad move (question mark you used). Then it must be Carlsen is a moron for playing it, and you are better than him.

@PrometheusAbsox Give the game in which Carlsen played into this line. I'm not sure you understand what Sarg0n is talking about

He is saying Bf4 is a blunder or whatsoever. I say that I don't understand how he got that level.

Don’t get personal and watch out for the concrete given Anti-LS line.

Even the LS book authors don’t recommend Bf4 against certain g6/d6 setups.
