under 2300 tournament

Lichess is a great platform, no doubt about it. I do have one suggestion. Under 2200/2300 tournaments. For me the under 2000 tournaments were the most enjoyable but if you pass 2000 you can not play those. In the regular tournaments I dislike facing the 2500+ players... It is fine if you want to learn and make progress but if having fun is what you search then those tournamentts are less atractive. There is enough fun to find at Lichess so it is just a thought but who knows if more "just for fun" players support the thought.

Being >2000 is already better than 85% of the whole pool. There's no point for further differentiation above that level. People way lower than 2000 still enter regular arenas and are still having fun.

Also there are only a few players 2300+ playing in the arena tournaments.

If you are just playing for fun, why are you concerned about winning?
If winning is your goal, do what it takes to improve

Only 14% of the players have a blitz rating of 2000+. Most players are rated between 1200 and 1800. For them there is hardly any difference between an open arena and an <2200 arena: Therefore probably not every <1800 player would be happy about the addition of <2200 in the hourly schedule (which rotates currently between <2000, <1700, <1500 and <1300).

How about occasional <2200 arenas? Every Saturday there is a 2200+ Superblitz Arena (next: https://lichess.org/tournament/EMhrwZmd). Maybe Lichess can host a <2200 Superblitz arena in parallel?

The more locations where different people can reach different tournament places, the more happiness for people and the more happy people who took first places and closer to them.

Therefore, I am in favor of separation. The main thing is to do it wisely. For better competition, maybe, I would try a couple of tournaments with a simultaneous upper and lower limit of the rating, for example, 1500 - 1900 and 1900 - 2300 (in regular chess). The fight in such tournaments can be tighter, and the victory for someone more pleasant.
