Happy Independence Day! (US)

I went to visit some family today. And oh well...this day was eventful!

So first we almost miss the train cuz I'm stupid and confidently sat on the wrong track before realizing I was lost.

Then the protestors decided that for America's birthday they were gonna protest twice as hard...owww my ears I never want to hear so many watermelons (on cars) honking again (iykyk)

And...you probably know what city I was in today...but to give you another hint downtown smells strange, really really bad, and I know downtown in all cities is never clean but this was a whole other level...

And then there was a woman on the metro who nearly punched a hole through the glass door when she saw the protestors, screaming "fck the mexican btches, f*ck the gazans, you are the reason I have to commute and the highway was blocked, I hope you all die in a crossfire, I hope your family is murdered, etc." yea it was a seven minute rant

Everybody got off quietly at the next station on the door far away from her...but I must have done it in a bit too obviously avoidant way cuz she made me a target next...apparently I'm a "ching chong b*tch" and then she made a big speech but I didn't hear it clearly cuz I was too busy making sure I didn't turn out like the poor door...

But then on a more positive note~

I found sakura + matcha pocky! Gahhh I'm a bit obsessed with that combination - also found a really good matcha latte place!

I went to go eat dinner and then discovered that we accidentally picked the perfect spot to view fireworks!

Oh yea I also had good ramen :)

Guess it's kinda weird when you're treated to a free clown show...

Anyway, Happy 4th :)

Oh yea this is kinda funny -

So on the way back home I stopped in a different city more down south - they were also protesting, but much more respectful about it...no honks and screaming, just a unison chant - and they huddled in a corner to avoid obstructing traffic after being instructed to do so by their leader. I was looking at some of their signs and most were criticisms of Trump...so it was kind of fun to see this one guy in a car decked out with every single kind of red, white, and blue with a yellow sign that said "SAVE TRUMP!" barreling right into a path where they would meet.

...I wanted to know how it played out so badly but with four police cars around I didn't dare linger too long...

I'm all for free speech...but like...you don't need to scream so loud into your megaphones that everybody can hear you loud and clear within a five mile radius...or organize like 100 cars honking at the same time...like guys...I had motion sickness from the train already, don't give me a fresh headache cuz that ain't gonna recruit nobody...

(And then ofc that woman trying her best to murder protestors through the glass on the rail...I hope she gets some help before she actually harms somebody...shoulda reported her but I'm a tourist and idk security numbers)

I'm all for free speech myself but racist abusive rants are another thing altogether.
Lol my wife likes to watch the Karen videos on YouTube and it seems like you encountered one.

I watch Auditor videos myself, and it's amazing how entitled some people are, and how many of these type get their phones out in a really enthusiastic way (as if they think the auditor should now be scared lol), when they don't get the answers they like. :). lol

Well it was like 9:45 at that point and we were still half an hour away from home, so we just left before the fireworks finished - when I got home tho I did hear some neighbours making illegal fireworks! :)
