protesting for more health research instead of against war?

I will not justify what happened on October 7. There isn't enough propaganda on Earth to justify that.

And if you think "capturing hostages' is all that took place on October 7, you might inquire more accurately and in detail. If you can stomach what you discover. There ARE videos, you know. But I wouldn't recommend to anyone viewing such horror and evil. And it might shatter a lot of preconceptions uncomfortably.

If we are going steadfastly to declare that war is unjustified, it's best not to minimize or try to explain what happened on October 7.

After all, that was war at its ugliest and most brutal. And, given Israel's relatively much smaller population, it was comparatively MUCH more significant to Israel than Pearl Harbor was to America, even if we don't consider that Japan did not deliberately murder or torture non-combatant women and children.

As I said, let's just agree to disagree.

I have no axe to grind in the fight. I think most Muslims, like most Christians, most Jews, most Hindus, most Buddhists and even most atheists are reasonable people who don't wish harm to others.

Let us hope all the countries in the Middle East have or attain governments that understand what a relative paradise the Middle East could be if it were realized that Israel is not going away, and that all of the nations in the region have much more to gain by cooperation than by war. And let's hope war stops being provoked.

"Japan did not deliberately murder or torture non-combatant women and children."

  • Germany submarines sunk American merchant vessels and thus killed civilian sailors.
Pearl Harbor was a preemptive strike. I think that you might think of doing something evil, so I attack you.
The war against Iran is similar and unprovoked.

"I think most Muslims, like most Christians, most Jews, most Hindus, most Buddhists and even most atheists are reasonable people who don't wish harm to others."

  • Jews and Muslims have a notion of holy or justified war.

"Israel is not going away"

  • But is it going to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates, as the old scrolls say?

Expand from the Nile to the Euphrates?

Are you serious? THAT'S your response to the notion that Israel is not going away?

I have to wonder who you are listening to, friend, if you actually worry that Israel has designs on Egypt, Turkey and Iraq.

"Expand from the Nile to the Euphrates?"

  • That is what the Old Testament says, and what religious zionist aim for.

@anonymous_III alright, here we go again.
Sorry for answering late, I was quite busy.

#1 “Historically proven“ yes, historically proven.
Vietnam War and Cuba Crisis were both partially caused by the US which is correct. I‘m not here to defend US ideology/interests, purely my own. There‘s no need to explain that the US will definitely have had their reasons for there actions and they will not have just been that they‘re a capitalist country.
North Korea is as we all know a really nice and free country (irony) and China has it‘s problems with freedom, human rights and working conditions too.

#2 Somebody’s poorly informed. The USSR mostly collapsed due to economic reasons, as you could find out by a simple google search.

#3 Though it just happened to be that a lot of communist countries are lead by dictators. That could be a coincidence but one way or another it doesn’t help their image.

#4 Communist countries always struggle with money, China left out, they fix that problem on cost of their human rights and working conditions. That isn‘t surprising for a system like that. The EU seems to worry more about human rights than anybody else. You can check that anywhere you want, I‘m surprised you don‘t know that as we seem to live in the same country. Most US companies produce in china because they can save money due to lack of good working conditions. I‘ve already said this/hinted it, you should maybe check out some documentaries about the DDR (History of your own country btw). There you saw a direct conflict of how well the US interested system works in the BRD and how well the USSR interested system of the DDR works. It‘s really well visible there, this is enough prove to me.

Maybe inform yourself about what you defend. As NoFlaps as already hinted, most of us aren’t able to experience it first hand and can only imagine how bad it is. Seemingly you slightly lack imagination.

"Vietnam War and Cuba Crisis"

  • Both caused by Kennedy, just like a crisis over Berlin.

"The USSR mostly collapsed due to economic reasons"

  • SDI from Reagan caused a costly weapons race, and the Chernobyl accident drained many resources, but the key point was allowing political parties other than the communist parties, which caused a victory of nationalist parties in all 15 republics.

" a lot of communist countries are lead by dictators"

  • A lot of capitalist countries too.

"Most US companies produce in china"

  • China is the factory of the whole world. The Chinese are more efficient and have a large home market.

And how come they are more efficient?
Because of good working conditions? Fair wages? No slavery or child labour?

  1. I didn‘t say otherwise, if you‘d have read my text.
  2. Economic reasons were big parts of it. I don‘t care what was the final reason for their collapse, economic reasons were a big parts of it and caused by the communistic system.
  3. I do not support capitalism in general, neither do I support for example Donald Trump who can arguably be called a dictator if you‘d like. Aside from that I‘d like to know which countries you‘re talking about.
  4. Are you trying to hide the fact that they have awful working conditions? Look, I don‘t know where you live in Russia for example we‘ll definitely have a different sight on this purely do to the political intentions of our leading political parties. I can‘t change that, I‘m always open for other perspectives as long as they‘re reasonable.
