Was Hikaru streaming during the event? That would answer that question.

I see everybody interested in the not interesting (who the guy is) and nobody noticing that in spite of what common knowledge seems to be these days, the winner never berserked.

So let's not throw around that "well, if you wanna win an Arena you definitely need to berserk" thing again.

He has none because Chess.com is paying him, and they definitely don't want him advertising Lichess. So some people might think it's Hikaru. But if Hikaru was streaming other games on his Twitch account GMHikaru, then that would be an easy way to instantly solve that question. @SavageAntarctican

I guess he didn't berserk as much as usual, and did a lot better. Berserking isn't very useful in long two hour tournaments (for bullet). Normal Lichess tournaments however, someone could easily get a good winning streak that becomes hard to beat (by berserking). For example, ChessNetwork has streamed tournaments in which he has been near perfect and only gets into the top 10, if these tournaments were longer he would easily be distinguished amongst the others. So in this tournament, Berserking definitely isn't as useful, but if you want to win hourly tournaments you might have to berserk.

Andrew Tang may have been the only one who beserked often (or the only one of a few)...

please guys Hikaru account is @lyinted , stop this BS thing that he cant play on lichess cos he is employed at chess.com is so annoying and untrue, the only thing he cant do is stream on lichess

Just by looking at this sentence I can tell the below:
1. This guy is at least 20 years old.
2. For sure he is not Magnus. His style is unique and he is very smart but with that sentence he confirms that he is not Magnus.
3. He is not kramnik, nor Kasparov and no way it could be Hikaru, he is someone going for the top and all of those mentioned suggestions know that Magnus is on TOP and wont bother reaching that, at least with their great achievements, my point is that he is still to achieve, not someone who did achieve.
4. He is a fan of that basketball player for some reason, maybe his style his agony or his way of play.

Those are just some thoughts. I'm not sure who he is, just like all of you, but I think we will be surprised of his real ID which won't be revealed unless he beats Magnus one day.

Hikaru is a basketball fan. Hikaru said on live stream he does indeed have a lichess account. He said he would never tell. This is probably Hikaru.
