I would love to do chess for a career but only 1970 fide and 15. I have a lot of good resources and dont do much tactics for my whole chess career. I just wasted time on social media and other videogames. But due to my age I would say playing professionally is too late even though that would be the only career I actually would be intrested to do. Like I have been taking things seriously for the past 3 months. I am continuing to do so but even then I feel like FM is the max title I could get based on these factors.
Chess career very unlikely for 99.99% of people, chess as a small side-hustle sure, I have a few students, but to make full time money able to support yourself just off chess is unlikely, just enjoy it as a hobby, if you're smart enuf to be able to skate by in school & on tests without much work you should be able to find a more lucrative path.
