War crimes?

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/11/30/war-crimes-hegseth-venezuela-strikes-00671160
"Lawmakers from both parties raised alarms Sunday that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth may have committed a war crime following a report that he ordered a follow-on attack to kill survivors of a boat strike in September."

That's what you get when you put a retarded ex-fox host in charge of the department of defense war.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Hegseth
"Hegseth faced allegations of sexual misconduct, financial mismanagement, and excessive drinking."

@wowbagger

It might be best to keep in mind that the US is a democracy NOT a theocracy. Hence, the list of Hegseth's so called "crimes" in your mind is really nothing more than resume building for public service!

Ermm, @CountDorio what are you talking about ?
I quoted a news article and some stuff from wikipedia, not 'crimes in my mind'.
Did I say anything about a theocracy ? No.
Are you drunk ? Maybe.

In #85 above, @ThunderClap appears to disagree when I write that war crime allegations tend to follow political preference.

But then, in the same post, he asks: "Do you REALLY TRUST The Trump Administration...."

Doesn't that tend to prove my point? I think it does.

Some in the Media start talking about "war crimes" rather predictably. But then, on further reflection, backpedaling begins. Let us learn from recent experience.

Incidentally, the Obama administration reportedly saw America make over 500 drone strikes. Was there a "declaration of war" made by Congress first, for that purpose? If not (and I don't believe there was!), did you think "war crimes" were taking place? If not, why not?

The United States has been losing about 100,000 lives each year as the result of the importation of illegal drugs. We mourn those dead 100,000, too, do we not? America's been losing people at a world-war level of lethality.

What's the solution for that? I hope that we both agree that the solution is not a shrugging indifference.

I wonder what's funny about 100,000 unnecessarily lost lives per year ...

I don't find that funny at all.

@wowbagger

That's exactly my point. You didn't mention something like a "theocracy" while at the same time mentioning the potential crimes committed by Hegseth. Democracies love people like Hegseth or Trump or Kamal Harris as these people represent the base desires of the worthless voting populace. US politics is nothing more than extreme reactionary mob-rule.

Hence, you should be surprised if someone like Hegseth wasn't guilty of anything as the question then becomes, "What's someone without a criminal record doing in government!???"
