Practice is key. Try to discuss with people who talk french fluently, like native speakers (like me) or anyone else. Watch videos of them talking and imitate them. You will learn common expressions and phrases very fast.

I guess that speaking extra loudly whilst simultaneously gesticulating with the very slim chance of getting ones point across satisfactorily is not a good option as an alternative. lolJK :).
