Policy Around Rematch

I just want to note here that I firmly and strongly oppose the Lichess stance regarding rematches, according to the one-way message that they sent me. I will use my right to block players who quit after playing a single game and keep my stance that this behavior is bad sportsmanship. Their position is clearly in disregard of the centuries of history and nobleness of our game and I oppose it, not aggressively, but firmly and strongly, the same way I let those players know what I think. They can suspend my account, which wouldn't be a surprise based on the tone of superiority in their communication, where they don't even give you a chance to reply. This is the message that I received:
"We noticed a pattern of aggressively asking for rematches in your communication. This is a reminder that nobody is obligated to play another match with you. By asking for a rematch you are solely relying on your opponent's courtesy, so them rejecting your request is not bad sportsmanship. On the other hand, it IS inappropriate on your part to criticize them for it. Please keep this in mind in the future."

@zicote I'm team Lichess, all the way.
But, the important question here, are you team "Rematch" or team "Quit"?

@zicote I'm team quit most of the time. I assure you, it is not bad sportsmanship. In a tournament OTB, there are no rematches.

I'd agree with that unwritten rule of not asking for rematch IF they'd add a "Play a Match" feature, where you request not a single game, but a match with whomever accepts.

Im kinda in between because I do agree that sometimes having a chance at only one colour gives a certain colour an advantage but people are entitled to not wanting to play again and not wanting to doesnt meant they have bad sportsmanship

Fair, although not much. Lichess tournaments have no rematch either. Friendly games OTB on the other hand... Let's compare apples to apples?

Team Don't Be Rude
That's the point, I'm arguing that quitting after one game and not offering a rematch IS being rude.

I didn't read up, but if you mean quick pairing, you aren't getting a ltr, it's a one time thing. Want a 3 match, I believe you have the ability to set up that sort of encounter. Otherwise, it's not them, it's you.
