Do you consider chess a sport?

Do you consider chess a sport? In your point of view.
Predominantly yes. It’s a game. There’s an opponent and tournaments. There’s rules. It requires training. There are amateur and professional ranks. It can be pretty, but so can a well struck soccer ball into the top corner or a strong serve in tennis or a nice curveball in baseball or a silky deke in hockey.

I enjoyed that.
No I don't class it as sport as it's not physical , but a battle of wits yes. It's not a sport because there is no age or physical discrepancy to play. To be a basket ball player you have to be tall ,anyone, anyone can play chess where as sport you have to fit a criteria to play xxx it is a true battle of minds, a game, it's a game not sport , scrabble is not a sport is it? xxx
No. Not online chess. All cheating. All underhanded.
When played as a sport, it is a sport. When played not like a sport, it isn't.
Yes. It has a competition, and an audience who wants to see it.

Its not based on luck either, and it aims to win above all . In my book, almost anything that fits there, its a sport.

The training, levels, leagues and whatnot are just Side effects of the desire to win.

No, due to the lack of a physical element.
