Good at chess bad at life ?

Good at chess bad at life ? Is there any reality in this saying?
No, you can be successful or unsiccessful in life as a chess player just like as a non chess player.
me bad at both. but better at chess a little I guess
I don't want anything related to chance for my chess, better get it for "real" life :)

There could be a truth for top level player that play chess 24/7, some ended up ill for example. (Isn't that one of the theme of the lastest chess movie, "The Queen Gambit" ? I didn't saw it)

For people like you and me, I would say quite the contrary:
Chess might taught you some useful skills (think before you do, calculation, concentration) that you could apply sucessfully at some other area.
There are really few 100% truth facts regarding human behaviour/success however.
@zade90 yeah very true. chess is limited in terms of playing field. life is unknown.
What is good at life?
People line up at the gates of heaven.

Gatekeeper: "What have you done in your life?"

Chessplayer: "I have played 1000 games of chess."
Pianist: "I have played 1000 concertos"
Composer: "I have composed 20 symphonies"
Painter: "I have painted 1000 canvasses"
Mathematician: "I have proved a theorem"
Physicist: "I have discovered an elementary particle"
Baker: "I have baked a million breads"
Policist: "I have fined 1000 people"
Fireman: "I have quenched 1000 fires"
Pilot: "I have flown 400 times around the Earth.
Mother: "I have raised two children"
