Hi everyone!
I was just playing a blitz game, and while doing it I opened a previous game with the same opponent that we played the same line. The cheating detection tool activited and declared a lost by cheating

Is this normal? I just want to be aware of how it works, so it does not happen again!

This is normal, you should never open an engine while playing a game, even if it is for analyzing another game. If this happens many times, you will get banned.

Ok, good to know. I figured it was not allowed, but i was checking the game moves, not looking at them with the engine.

Especially not if you are currently playing the same line. That's obviously cheating.

Please do not discuss details of detection including closed accounts. Cheat was detected in this game as indicated in the page.

Why not? It's a good thing to know about (in order to avoid its recurrence, if nothing else).

LiChess publishes its cheat detection algorithm. The scala program that aborted the game is visible to everyone.

If Lichess cheat detection finds same position in two different tabs of a user playing at that time, ot declares the game as cheating.
Hence, this happened in your case. But don't do it from now on.
