@hangrad First of all this is not the place to discredit players you think are not legit or are suspicious. You should make your own post in the forum about it.
But just to clear some things up, as far as I know Lance has no FIDE title at all, as if I recall correctly he once said it. If he wanted, though, he could easily reach GM title.
Regarding his identity, he has all the rights in the world not to share and show his personal informations. However, if lichess moderation decided it's fine to have him as coach they must have verified someway he's trustworthy.
He has always been considered a flag of this website, as well as other players.
To my personal experience I have never seen him once, in more than 3 years, speak badly of someone or show his giant ego you think he has. Well I don't think he has, I think he's very humble, like seriously he's always the first to say congrats to this, congrats to that after special tournaments where strong players have played.
He's only very happy to play on lichess, share his great successes of when he was younger (see his studies in his profile) and share his knowledge in chess to other players.
Why should people with fan clubs be automatically tagged as narcissists goes beyond me. Do you know most fan clubs on lichess are founded by fans? Have you ever thought it's just a place where people share their emotions about a certain player they respect and love following?
Lastly, if you want to be coached by someone you can either ignore Lance and go for someone with public info or you can go to Lance's coach page and see what rating and reviews people have left.

@Deadban You are probably right about everything except that achieving the GM title is very difficult. Please hire lance as your coach and write here your opinion about the quality of the lessons. Also please check lance record against GM titled players to get the idea how strong ĢM titled players are. Also there are many forum threads by players complaining about lance marketing tactics.There are players who do not like to see many ads.

@hangrad What the hell is your problem? This was a peaceful and respectful thread to congratulate lance for his great success in marathons, but you decided to come here and attack his personality with no facts for any of your statements.
Also, what are these "ads" about his coaching you talk about, if you are triggered by seeing his simul occasionally on the front page you should probably get some professional help.
