Nice show on your journey from FM to GM.
This advice is the usual over-simplified mush which is covertly an ad for paid services by the master.
recently blog lichess has become an advertising platform. why moderators allow such approach?
hello excellent content, I also write blogs (content) and I invite you to read it or take a look at it, link to the blog (my blog)...:https://lichess.org/@/juansebastian2011/blog/4-openings-for-beginners/hqKP21UQ
A bunch of macho cheese Ugga Wugga that doesn't really address the real reasons for draws, and instead substitutes some nonsense.
We live in the era of databases.
Gabuzyan - Nisipeanu, draw after 10 moves /Reykjavík
Keymer - Gabuzyan, draw after 15 moves/Reykjavík
Gabuzyan - Oparin, draw after 9 moves/Tornelo, Italy, 2021
Svane - Gabuzyan, draw after 17 moves/Tornelo, Italy, 2021
Well, I have also accepted a draw by a GM. I admit.
This felt much better than 100 wins against beginners.
Also GM Noel Studer has made some draw against a higher rated player.
We are not all 12-year-olds (and I do agree with the your advice being good for very young players).
But in a online tournament if you have a lower amount of points draw might be better for you because you would win points instead of taking the risk of losing the game so in my opinion draw could sometimes be better for you
I dislike that the lichess blog is mostly boring personal stories, advertisements, and self-help crap.
Out of the last 12 posts, 4 of them seem basically worthless:
"Why You Should Reject Draw Offers" = Spam, low effort ad
"The Lewis Flush" = Spam, boring anecdote
"Play your first UgLy game" = Spam, low effort/self-help ad
"How to Improve the Quality of Your Chess Training" = more chessmood spam
Besides this several others with practical advice (99% of chess is taking pieces, NoelStuder's essays, etc) are good practical advice mixed with tiresome lifecoaching "mental game" stuff.
