lichess.org/study/QQel05PW/yGtwaestI did it for both sides. That doesnt make sense, but Im interested for the opening, not the defence.
Knows anyone a vid or somethings else about this opening or its name (or is it such dump, that there is no name?).
Have you already tried the opening explorer?
Van't Kruijs Opening
Van't Kruijs is everything opening with e3.
Thats fine but i hope for a better answer.
I found some games with this setup.
Maybe there is more of information than the Van't Kruijs Opening.
(by the way, the most of them move d4 later, and thats false.)
Thank you for your time.
I can't believe this opening set-up has a name, it's just not good.
The games you found were probably in the Lichess game database, right? It has probably been played by novices, who tried to go for a pretty pattern. For this reason, I don't think that database is of any practical use. Instead, I exclusively use the Master database, which is very good.
Thanks a lot
@ll.
Hippopotamus Defense ok.
So I can check it out ;-)
@FM Wittke : Im not good. I saw it at the chess club and Im / I was interested.
Gotham plays the hippo against people he thinks are cheating.
@Fyndegil in german wiki there is a hint
de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippopotamus-Er%C3%B6ffnungBoris Spasski played i three times.
FM Feustel wrote about it in his book
" Bernd Feustel: Eröffnungen – abseits aller Theorie"
It is not so good, to be diskussed to the 40 move deeps xD
It's diskussed:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsMBHySzkC8Mr Rosen streamed a hippo game xD :
www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdAthyBbN7cMr Carlsen played it too:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=22l1dx-M9Ho@FM Wittke : Seems to be an "unkown" for casuals.
for black its close to the hippo setup, idk if the hippo works for white
