Candidates 2014

Candidates tournament to select the opponent of world champion Magnus Carlsen in 2014 world championship match is going to happen in Russia this month. I opened this topic to discuss the tournament and some notable games.

2012-2013 FIDE Grand Prıx first two places;

Levon Aronian, Sergey Karjakin

What are your predictions?

I think Levon is a big favourite considering his form in this year. He is also top rated player in the tournament.
Kramnik is always a challenger but i think his "drawnik" era is finished. He has to show something different i guess
Anand is in a big downtrend after he lost the championship. I think he isn't ready for a serious tournament mentally.
Topalov made some great comeback in 2013. He will surely show some of his talent here.
Mamedyarov who i like so much, his style doesn't really fit for this kind of tournaments but i think he'll make some very good games maybe even some immortals. His style is perfect for that
Sergey who i also like very much is very good player but he might not handle with this tournament. He needs one more year to be a contender here i guess

I still think this tourney is missing Caruana.!! so i dont care who wins.. -_-

I hope for anand, but that's not realistic. I guess Kramnik has
good chances.
