is lichess more popular than chesscube?

Topic sums it all :P, its seems to me that its much faster to find opponents here than in chesscube, does lichess beat CC in its user base?

lichess is much more popular. In fact lichess is the second most popular chess server, after chess.com.

Those rankings are not what I would call definitive for ranking "chess servers." It appears that it is just counting hits to the website, but most people that play on ICC or FICS do not go to the website, they log directly into the server via an interface. Those two sites, and maybe others, would be much higher on that list if that was counted correctly.

I do not know about ICC, but FICS is definitely less popular than lichess. According to its own database, http://ficsgames.org/, some 40,000-45,000 games are played on FICS every day. Lichess has some to 140,000 games played on it every day.

ICC is likely to be lower yet, due to the paywall. So I'd say lichess is easily more popular than the two regardless of the method of counting, given that statistic alone.

That was a month ago. Now we're closer to 160,000 games finished per day.
