Any of you playing Blitz and Rapid although you shouldn't and don't like it that much? :)

It's interesting how stupid someone can be! I really like long games (classical on lichess) and OTB. When I lose games in longer time formats, I usually don't get enraged. I also take a lot more out of longer games because it makes more sense to analyze them (at least for me).

Nevertheless I press on that damn blitz and rapid button FAR too often, although I don't improve a lot and usually get enraged because of various blunders!!!

Am I the only "self destructing one" here? :D

I think Blitz and Rapid can work as a splendid trainings tool as long as you take your time and do some analysis afterwards. That’s the way I practice. I would draw a line at say 10min total playing time. No bullet.
That's the same for me. I started playing blitz to learn to play faster in my classical OTB games. I can play much faster and better now in time trouble (and I'm less often in time trouble) but I still forget about the clock all the time (I lost my last OTB game on time in an easily winning position against a player rated 400 point higher than me).
Anyway, I don't like blitz that much but once I start a session, it extremely hard to stop, especially when I'm not playing well.
I really think Lichess should implement something so we can fix in advance the maximum number of games (or amount of time) we want to play per day, because once we've started, it's hard to have the lucidity to stop. And I feel I'm not the only one like that.
@Palamede - I feel with you.

Two points I agree with you on: 1) Playing blitz helps you when u get in time trouble in OTB games. I feel like someone who NEVER plays blitz has a serious disadvantage if he or she gets in time trouble as well. 2) Playing blitz or rapid doesn't help someone necessarily with OTB time trouble. There are several reasons for that, mine for example is that I take way too long for finding a "perfect" moves although playing a "normal" move spending a lot less time would help me a lot more.

3) yeah 2-3 blitzgames a day a more than enough. I think we don't need more when our goal is OTB strength.
