switching from 1.d4 to 1.c4

hey for c4 or d4 players, what are the pros and cons of switching to 1.c4 (marocchi or catalan (unless 1....e5)) from 1.d4 (catalan)?
I switched to c4 for a while, and then stopped playing the English, except for using it as a transpositional tool. It all differs on how you are using 1 c4. Maroczy/Catalan sounds good especially if you already play the Catalan. I, however, rarely play the Catalan and similar g3 lines (except to surprise my usual opponents in tournaments), and that's why I stopped playing 1 c4.

I'm only giving advice because I have experience playing both haha. You are clearly a stronger player than me by rating.

Botvinnik's setup/formation (named after, of course, the one and only Mikhail Botvinnik) is one english I started using in fast chess. It's always the same: c4, Nc3, g3, e4, Nge2, Bg2, d3, h3, 0-0 & Be3 (sometimes not). Below is an example of Botvinnik's formation:

I have tried various approaches so 1. Nf3 suits me best. I play usually d4 later, sometimes even the meek d3.
I play f4 other than my first priority d4. So, I can't tell about c4. In fact, I rarely ever played it.
I love playing the English, but it gets so much slander from higher level opponents lol. All except Ding Liren maybe but still. The English is so good for deep positional play, it gets the brain juices flowing.
The first few that come to mind are Nakamura and Rozmen, but I've heard so many others say the English is mediocre, or not good for lower rated players
