On the main hub page for simuls (https://lichess.org/simul), it states "When the simul starts, every player starts a game with the host, who gets to play the white pieces." However, the site does not actually require all hosts to play with the white pieces, so perhaps the second clause could be removed?

This appears to be a crowded translation for "English (US)".
If you change language to "English", it doesn't mention the white pieces...
So I guess it can be fixaed by suggesting the correct translation at https://crowdin.com/project/lichess
