Rating percentile difference on chess.com and lichess.org

Hi I am confused why on chess.com my rating percentile is 85% and here it is about 50%. 2 things I can think of:
- one of the systems in glitching
- I play a lot better on chess.com (which doesn’t make any sense)

Could someone please explain what is going on

Most likely in one of the two platforms you have not played enough games for the rating to settle.

Or, perhaps in one of the two the games are less recent

Or, you are using different time controls.

After enough games the percentile should get fairly close.

lower rated players are have higher ratings here for example 700 chess.com 1200-1300 lichess ,1000 chess.com 1500 lichens, 2000 chess.com 2150 lichess

Wow ok mate I play on both cuz it gets boring playing on one and cuz a lot of my friends play on chess.com. not leaving anytime soon :)

Simple because Chess.com has a bigger and different playberase than lichess. Meaning the values are not comparable and thus you can be 50 percentile on one and 85 on the other.

Remember x. Per cent / per cent tile
Is always based on something and if thoses are different datasets you cant compare

Chesscom has weaker players

Way bigger pool on the other site - about 8 million for blitz as opposed to around 600,000 here

The other site has gotten too big I suspect
