Is Chess an Actual sport?

In a real competitive setting it should be counted as a sport, not so much while sitting at home on your computer.
lets use authority of english language: the oxford dictionary
"An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment."

So is not sport according to them. Mind-sport? like e-sports
well if you can break your leg playing chess then I guess its a sport. Lol (didn't a guy break his leg playing chess?)
We play chess for "sport", but it is not a sport. If chess were a sport, Bridge, Backgammon, Monopoly and Scrabble would also be sports. They are not and neither is chess. Chess is a military style war game, played out through the mind over a board, elevated to the level of art.
#25, comparison with some games of chance... Well then. Alea iacta est.
@Whiplash775 Yes but you have to consider Skill ceiling as well, Monopoly or scrabble can never be a sport because it does not go far beyond the casual level of play, you can master it completely.(Unless you want to argue sematics) Chess however is something you can train seriously for your entire life and never be anywhere near the top. Coaches teams and everything, even doping is a thing in chess, FIDE has anti doping rules.
Sport is a term that is very broad and can mean anything between casual kicking of a ball to Korean GSL Championships, so a mental sport is most definetely a thing.
