is bullet necessary?

"Bullet is crap , shit , rubbish..."

OK guys.
So the 200 titled players who play in the Lichess Prized Arena every time are a crappy lot.
Among them is the World Champion , the challenger , many Super GMs , a lot of GMs and countless IMs , FMs and NMs.
You had better call Magnus. Inform him that bullet is "useless filth" and try to change his mind...
@Sarg0n I mostly agree with what you say in #42. However, bullet has 1 think it can improve and that is acting fast in time trouble.
My opinion on This

Bullet ( Or lower time controls ) : Good for Fun , but Dont help classical Chess much . Only good use I could see is " make fast slow " effect , If You are gonna play blitz , it could be good to play 2-3 bullet First , Because Than at blitz , it would Feels much slayer and it could be easier to calculate variations .

Blitz : Good for study opening and endgame , If You study The games after play instead start playing Another Game . You can Also think in Middlegame If The position isnt in A chaos , which is better Than bullet .
Rapid/ Classical : Good for Middlegame / Endgame , ideal before OTB games .
@Larenoth That's because you haven't played enough bullet. Once you get the hang of it, your calculation speed increases. Well, that helped at least me.
@NoobBatter Ya, but the thing about bullet, especially ultra bullet is it's often a "Is my premove better than your premove" sort of situation... and you wind up with a sneaky win like mine here. You don't get this level of objectively bad chess at any other time controls. In ultra bullet it's perfectly reasonable to simply hang your queen if you put her in a position with a mate in 1 on next move.

This is why I don't consider ultra bullet / bullet real chess. The threat of being flagged is so great that people can just toss out ANY move as fast as possible. And quality of the move means nothing. Level 1 weak stockfish that anyone can normally beat is a beast in bullet.

Bullet REWARD bad moves.
Chess PUNISHES bad moves.

(bad moves = hope chess)
Perfect! #42 from @Sarg0n is a statement to find a consensus - by far better than the previous #7 "Bullet is a abbreviation for bullshit, nuff sed."
Some players prefer only long time controls, some only bullet, some both. That's all right! What's wrong is to condemn some time controls because of a "lack of quality". Mistakes are the reason that this game has any legitimacy at all (and they happen in any time control)!
Shorter time controls foster mistakes which can make the game interesting again - not everyone is able to enjoy infinite draw series.

If bullet would reward bad moves, you should easily beat Nakamura, Carlsen, Tang etc. @lurarose - find the mistake...
