Question

So I would enjoy info regarding how lichess decides if you cheat, I have heard it uses an algorithm and goes based off of your performance but as someone with mental illness I often under perform when on my manic lows and on my manic highs I have even defeated, drawn or nearly defeated my coach an international master, I've gotten to where I can almost always challenge my coach in a serious way, but I do have days where anyone could defeat me, this in turn makes my next day of strong play seem suspicious and I risk getting flagged, also I often play OTB online and write down my thoughts during the game then write a suggestion, or will often have times where my coach observes sort of how the youtube series with Hutch and his coach went where I'm warned by my coach of the threat I say my move and he lets me know if it'll kill me or not, and then gives at times suggestions. I also send my positions to my coach and he gives thoughts as I enter the next game and this is often brief where he via messenger sends a 30sec clip of voice of how to approach in round 2 vs someone which in turn can make me go from losing badly because of a bad choice last game to dominating the next and of course that gets me looking suspicious I'm sure but I never use engine support in game I simply improve when possible, of course on my bad mental days due to a list of mental health issues that affect me I'll play horribly no matter what. I simply don't get what to do to not be flagged in the future and it worries me greatly, I mean who cheats but pays $100 a week on a coach and meets daily with him? Just any advice would be appreciated
If you do not cheat then you have nothing to fear.
Many players have day to day variations in strength for various reasons. Let not that deter you.
Paying for a coach does not mean you are more or less likely to be a cheater. That's like saying, "Officer I have a wife already, we have been married a while now... why would I hire a hooker?" So what? That does not positively or negatively effect your case. Changes nothing.

You seem a bit worried that your coach may be helping you win games too much, and saying "I look suspicious" doesn't help your case...

Also, making excuses for why your play may go up or down greatly doesn't help your case any.

I'm not accusing you of being a cheater, but that long thing you wrote out makes you sound suspicious to me, although looking at your blunderful games with random move times makes me think otherwise.

Anyways... As for how cheaters are detected they have computers checking that. They run some sample games of yours through a computer and it sees how many of your moves match up with various engines. They also got staff that manually review these cheat claims.

They also look at move times. A good way to spot a cheater is if they take just about the same amount of time on every move regardless of complexity. If there is some critical position very complex with like 4 or 5 reasonable candidate moves... takes you 5 seconds... then next move 5 seconds... then next move 5 seconds... Then you got a mate in 1 that takes you 5 seconds too. That flat line on your move times can look suspicious.

You are probably not going to get flagged a cheater the first time you cheat. However, cheaters don't cheat just once though... There will be the next game, and next game and next game with the engine. This is to double or triple check and verify the person cheated for sure and remove the anomaly factor.

lemme tell you what will happen, you will get flagged and banned, and even if you report the real cheaters they wont get flagged its only the innocent once that get flagged thats what i have realised i have seen so many cheaters reported but not flagged.
I had reported many cheaters and lots have been banned. I heard through the grapevine that reports of high-rated players are taken more seriously and processed quicker because they are considered more reliable.
@CMSargon but I was flagged already before on my other account, my coach was with me when it happened he saw the game and a few minutes later flagged as a computer assistance, my performance yesterday was bad I lost focus a lot as I was getting messages, in any event when I do play well I have defeated my coach and other strong players, often I lose to 1400s because they simply move awkwardly and I'm really only strong at the book moves, it's why vs an international master I play and give him a challenging game but against weak players I'm confused, I've told my coach, I'll fear no GM but I'll run in fear of every 1400 as actually thats how my games tend to go. That of course looks odd and sounds odd but its truth, but your example of a hooker when having a wife isnt the same as paying for a chess coach and cheating, in this if I just wanted to win, i'd use some mid grade computer engine say setting stockfish on my phone to level 6 and play as it does there would be errors but with a high chance I'd win still, or if I lost that my opponent is also cheating etc, regardless I am passionate about my play on my other account it was flagged but I had only a 45% win rate at best probably lower and lost many games the day before it truly doesn't matter the mods say if your game performance varies too much then youre likely a cheater, so with my mental illnesses affecting me as well as just humans not being consistent its bs all around that makes me afraid to even play.
nice, admitted to past account flagged as a cheater. At least it put him on the radar now and outta keep him honest.
