the Niemann makes a great point about the look good on screen sisters

Bit salty though. Seems a more diplomatic approach could have been smarter, considering that they are reaching out to him. If he wants them to reevaluate some earlier public statements, I think they may consider, if he actually talked with them, maybe they'd even recant some of the earlier asserted certainty.

They're vloggers who also responded to the news. You can't expect them to immediately throw Carlsen under the bus, he seemed very sure of himself and he's Magnus. You have to read the 73-page report well to understand it's not presenting evidence. Also the "Hans cheated because his graph shows a skill bump" has not aged well, because the skill bump lasted and persisted OTB.

I think some people know damn well he's not cheating anymore, but they want to burn him forever for having done it period. I don't think the Botez's are like that.
Streaming is about much more than chess rating - a lot of it is about talking, engaging and entertaining people. The sisters defined a space for themselves and have their own audience. They do strive to give some variations geared to the level of their audience.

I watched some streams by Nepo and also Grischuk and they got very few people and eventually just gave up. Their streaming skills did NOT match their absolutely fabulous chess skills. I like both these players.

For sure Niemann is a 125% jerk who specializes in making trouble for himself.

PS: This seems like a troll topic that I should have ignored.
BTW The sisters are CFC 2200+ and 1900 which means I suspect that they are better or much better than DM.
I don't know much about the Botez sisters, but when I first learned about them it was because they defended slavery in Dubai a couple years ago.
It's crap like this that made me give up on the chess world long, long ago.
Streamers playing mediocre chess making more $$$ than most GMs. Lol

The world is upside down. Paul Brothers, 1000 cute girls on YouTube making millions it shows you something business people learned long long ago.

There is a ton of money entertaining the invalids. There are more fake money gurus with a huge following than actual economists. They pop up every decade go to prison then a new group pops up.

These things aren't new. Phony people hav been more successful since Nimrod lol.

I agree but also I think that wouldn't be a genuine approach from hans. Hans would be faking it for the clicks.

I can agree with this, as well. The only problem is would he get a genuine response or a response for the clicks which might change later if the clicks demand a different response.

other streamers were critical of carlsen's behaviour. ben finegold was brutal towards carlsen. finegold said even if hans did cheat against carlsen, carlsen's actions and behavour was not only wrong, they were against fide rules. Also, finegold didn't think Hans cheated.

I think we have very similar opinions about hans and the botez sisters. I think the the sisters are good at what they do, there are lots of pretty face streamers that no one watches. the sisters are doing something right and good for them. I hope they continue to grow their audience, business skills and as people.
