Bug: Invisible White Knights

I posted on github here https://github.com/lichess-org/lila/issues/18372, so please go check out the screenshots.

But what I thought was a bug with one puzzle turns out to be a lichess-wide bug, making all white knights invisible.

Disabling all browser extensions doesn't help but using a private browser window does. It doesn't happen all the time either; sometimes I can see white knights and sometimes they're invisible.

I just got some invisible queens in a bullet game -

https://lichess.org/dlIaakoKkvol
after black's move 76 (promotion) I had to click the invisible piece to move it elsewhere. And same when white promoted his own queen - invisible.

Actually when checking the replay - I could see the black queen just fine, but the white c pawn (running to promotion) was invisible too

Sounds like a bug somewhere :D

Which piece set are you using? Do you have any lichess-related browser extension or custom styles?

@thibault I figured it out. It's the same bug as this one: https://github.com/lichess-org/lila/issues/18294

I don't want to clear my browsing data, so I'm just using a different piece set for now.

I am getting the bug with disappearing pieces quite frequently. There seems to be a race condition or something. I haven't done a deep dive debug.

Just lost a game because my queen suddenly became invisible.

You can literally see this issue often when games load.

The pieces flash and on rare occasions stay invisible instead of re-rendering.

I'm on mobile. Android. Google Chrome. I believe I've seen this on desktop as well but haven't cross checked recently. It appears to be a fairly recent bug/issue.

Have not tried an incognito window or clearing my browser data to see if that fixes things.

This could be a cool variant, temporary piece invisibility to opponent. Player gets x invisibility moves per game. Invisible piece can only make legal move. Visibility is re-applied after y moves (or time elapsed on clock?)
