Oh, @CSKA_Moscou, you are online. Do you have any ideas based on the information provided by our dear narrator?
We have three weeks' worth of food supply and a doorless secret room/bunker.
Oh, we also have an uncatered-for garden, and presumably, the supplies that go along with one.

As I said, bunker or not, I'm not staying inside, it's safer to be on the move. There are mountains around San Diego, so I'm meeting up south, near Otay Mountain, that's why I say, loudly, to the others.

In the meantime, I've fended off the zombie and thrown away my makeshift spear for fear of contamination, other zombies might be approaching soon. I grab Tom and put him in my half-open backpack, and I gather some leftover food and a bottle of wine at random.

Since zombies don't exist, and teslas do, I floor it to 120 in 1 second for a fast escape. Unfortunately, the zombie has hung on to the bumper by its fingernails. I realize this because it is singing the thriller song by Michael Jackson, so we all sing along together. I spot a cougar crossing the railroad tracks and stop just long enough for it to have it's zombie snack, when I then narrowly escape the oncoming train zombie free

Okay, so the average San Diego person’s physical stats aren’t the best, and since zombies would have below the average strength, they shouldn’t be too much of a problem individually, considering they haven’t mutated by much.
Also, San Diego probably has a higher average firearm ownership rate than the rest of California, so there might be a chance that we have a gun. Whether or not we do own one depends on the number I choose and how many people agree with me.
Also, being on the move is a better idea than staying at home, like @CSKA_Moscou said, but, we need to get materials, and there seems to only be one zombie so far, so the amount also depends on the number I pick, right? It takes about three hours to get from LA to San Diego by car, so there really shouldn’t be many zombies anyway.
Our character gets the firearm if it’s there, and all the resources necessary.
We can get the essentials and maybe some additional stuff.
The essentials are water and a water purifier, canned food, first aid, disinfectant, toilet paper, conditional clothing since we might go to the mountains, on-the-move storage, and possibly a hammer or trowel for self-defense since the possible gun won’t have infinite bullets if at all.
Now, the additional stuff might be a flashlight, a whistle for communication, two-way radios, pain relievers, and a concentrated heavy-duty detergent for certain scenarios against a zombie or for cleaning an uninhabited place while on the move.
Now, I have another tricky math representation that can VETO votes as well. But considering that I cannot reuse the same one, and that this might be my last one, I will save it for a dire situation.
My guess is the number 5, @greenteakitten.
