Homework: Should homework be banned, or is it beneficial for learning?

I was not a homework kid, I guess because it had the word work in it. Had they called it homepleasure maybe I would have opened a schoolbook at home but homework was not my cup of tea.

I think homework should be optional review. Homework shouldn't be stressful. School is long enough in some places of the world. Generally, though, it is good to do homework, but sometimes, someone might actually have something important or if the person feels ready enough for the big exam, homework is kind of just a waste of time

when I was teaching in China, I used to give 4 hw assignments each semester, and grade each. the total combined score from these 4 assignments comprised 50% of the final grade. that's right, half the final grade was hw.
Hw isnt something I give Ss to keep them busy. It's the callenge/opportunity to demonstrate that they can use the knowledge and skills we work on in class.Showing me what you can do is more important than knowing the book answers to book questions.

What's your opinion peeps hehe...

So, here's some rando essay I wrote in 5th grade about Homework...

I believe that Elementary Schools should give students homework every 1 in 2 days.

Firstly, Homework assists parents (or guardians) and teachers to monitor a specific student’s independent progress. Students from 6-18 years old spend almost half their time at school, if not their entire day. So it is essential that we make sure that time is worth it. Students only retain 50% of knowledge and information teachers teach and provide them with in class. That is why homework exists, to make sure that the student absorbs the information provided to them. However, if the student gets extreme amounts of homework, the student is going to predictably get stressed. Therefore, they might get tired and that might lead to health problems like headache and stomach disease. That will lead to not doing well academically in the long run. 82% of High School Students participating in a poll in California feel stressed by homework.

Next, homework also helps students comprehend what is taught in classes and helps prepare for assessments, but as aforementioned, students don’t like homework. Many students have developed an acronym for homework. “Half Of My Energy Wasted On Random Knowledge.” Ever since homework was invented in 1905 by Roberto Nevelis, students have had a hate for homework. Those students must develop a new acronym, because it is not random knowledge. Students who spent 31-90 minutes on homework scored around 40 points better on the SAT-Mathematics Subtest than those who didn’t. However, excessive homework can also promote cheating in some cases. 67% of High School Students admit to copying someone else’s homework at some point in their academic history. That is why homework is only SOMETIMES good.

Finally, while doing homework, students can develop good work and study habits. But, in contradiction...sometimes homework doesn’t help at all. The City University of New York reports that students who do more homework are “generally more motivated” and achieve more than those who don’t. However, there was in fact, a contradicting statement. 4th Grade Students who didn’t do homework got almost the same score as those who did on the National Assessment for Educational Progress (NAEP) math exam. Students who did three-fourths of an hour or more typically got worse. Alfie Kohn, an education and parenting expert and the author of “The Homework Myth,” explains, “Just because the same kids who get more homework do a little better on tests doesn't mean that homework made that happen.”

In conclusion, I think there should be a balance of homework and no homework and that led me to the ratio of 1 piece of homework per every 2 days at school. I hope you take the time to consider my perspective.

It's really your side to pick, really.
Is homework good or not? Eh...both.

Also, it's not AI, please stop the paranoia, this is one of the best essays I've ever written, and please don't brand it is AI.

I don’t think homework is beneficial unless u like don’t finish it in class then it automatically becomes homework. However instead of homework teachers should give like a guide of what they should study because homework can cause stuff like stress, it limits the student’s chancing of going outside getting fresh air and being active. And sometimes people don’t get to do homework which makes them have to rush or turn it in late and get a lower grade which is unfair because the student has a life besides school too. So instead of giving full on homework teachers should create like a plan of what the students should study......dang I had a lot to say abt that lol
