The Hippo. A rap for aging players

I'm older than dirt but that's okay,
for my bad, furry spaniel likes it that way.
Why does he like it? (You can't help but ask)
'Cause I don't make him run, since I'm not up to the task!

When I was much younger, I ran all the time.
And the spaniel ran with me (he was still in his prime!)
But now he just wants to stay home with a bone;
He goes outside just to sprinkle (and does that all on his own!)

We'll age out together, and then be under some lawn;
Yes, someday we won't be still greeting the dawn!
But until that happens, and we fade away
I'll be playing the Hippo...
