How is this even fair?

I was in the middle of a 10+0 game when the lichess server went down and when it later came back online after 5 to 10 minutes, I had lost the game by forfeit and also lost rating points. Will I be refunded for it?

I guess that's why they warn you with a pop-up message ten minutes before the restart.

There was no restart today though. And the downtime during restarts is generally only a few seconds. It sounds like you just disconnected for a while.

It wasn't a server restart and my internet was okay because all the other websites were working alright.

Yup, even though it usually feels like "the internet" is just one big thing you connect to when everything is going well, it isn't really like that, which can occasionally lead to all kinds of weird things. The server was completely fine for everybody else the whole day so I'm pretty confident it's something on your side or close to it.
