List of aborters

@laatikko Your proposal leads to much work for users and admins, and it has several points, where a consciouis or unconscious manipulation could take place (e.g. players from rogue states could be reported more oftenly than others)

Better make a fully automated solution: Automatic recognition of abortions, automatic accounting, automatic warning, automatic banning.

Err, this is, what we have, I believe.
@AcademicNinja99
If that's the guiding policy of lichess, then fine, another possibility could be automated option of not playing against aborters. Aborters could be reported with reference to the game and admins would decide whether the player should be flagged as an aborter, and flag could follow from say 3 flaggings during one month. Continuing false accusations might result in ban for wasting admins' time.

@pawn-ij Merry Christmas to you too!
@laatikko

Yeah I don't think that would be against Lichess policy, but I'm not sure if Lichess developers would ever add it, it's pretty difficult to implement a whole new system. Also, 3 flaggings in one month is definitely too little. I mean, it sometimes happens that you accidentally clicked on a game you didn't want to play, so then you abort it. I don't know what the exact flag threshold would be, that is something for the admins to determine, but a threshold of 3 flags would probably get large part of Lichess labelled as aborters, most of them being people who don't deserve it.
Hear my awesome idea: As you abort games you can get from 1 abourt to 100 and first your character name starts green: each 1 abourt point is making your username in the lobby red and there is 100 different syntax of red and green that you may have for your account's username's color. Each day you loose 1 abourt point for every 5 hours you've played so it means if you abort 1 game in 5 hours you will stay green and will have no abort points. Players may discriminate the others players for being red so they are not playing with them. You may switch off the color option in the settings..
@Wjx2MyQvLW99sHmeCGQQ

That's actually public shaming too, because the only thing the shades of red do is to label someone as an aborter (more or less)

And then what if it's not you joining the lobby game, but an aborter joining yours? Will the color be seen in the game as well? Are you justified to abort the game yourself if the other person is a certain shade of red? Should there be an option for custom settings that limit players with a certain number of aborts from entering your game?

This idea would not only be a violation of Lichess policy, but also very hard to put into practice because of all the details that need to be figured out and implemented.
Oh, and also, please edit or delete your post #6, because you wrote the name of someone who let their time run out when playing with you, and that's ALSO public shaming.
Okay this is becoming ridicolous. Others can abort the game but if i tell the fact they do it then i get a penalty? WTF? Are you serious with this...how can you be so unfair and childish, someone being a jerk and aborting MY game is a shame for himself alone. If he feels its a shame that he aborted a game thats right he has to. then dont do it but i wont delete nothing because i said a fact sb aborts. Red color as public shaming? There are some MODs in MMORPG's where the mod colors the names based on how good they play then thats shaming too? Showing how many games he aborted is shaming, then its a shaming telling about them how much elo they have like i say penguin has a elo of 2700 its a shaming. its a shaming too if i tell how many games he played and completed now guess what i dont contribute to this. Someone made a post about sb who didnt give her a takeback and pinned his name on a forum post i guess thats still out there. I once got a IP ban (for my very first account here back then i was playing as anonymous and i had a forum account) for saying my opinion that people shouldn't pay coaches because they are expensive and they should learn from online videos. Also i got a IP ban from forum and private messages and in game chat permanent ban for saying that someone is a ELO padder. Is this right? Also aborting games and let times run out is right? Interest-baning people is right? Guess what if someone is aborting my game i message them in private message almost every time and the second time they do that i block them. This also applies for time trolling. Isnt it aganist a policy to abort a game and destroy minutes of gameplay by leaving the game? Oh yeah the 20th times. Now i shame someone (actually saying how many games he aborts like i say his ELO) 20 times i agree to get a ban for 1 day like they do. Or 1 hour for the fist time. I don't want to worry about what I write here and when I will be banned again so you bet you won't see me on this forum after this so ofthen. I won't be a part of a great childish party where the jerk aborter has more protection that someone who wants to warn others for good. But in fact this REALLY encourages me to make my opponent wait for 12 minutes because I leave the game and then whine when they complain about me, this would at least may change this ridicolous policy but i guess you don't understand the meaning of shaming. Telling a fact about someone is shaming, how? Please explain. He aborted a game of mine and he must be shamed of himself Really i will make a website and make a public list there not linked to my account so they all see the list of aborters and time quitters. Aborters are 99% dont want to play aganist a stronger opponent and they sometimes they misclick I have almost 2k games overall and never misclicked. Only aborted few times because i GTG . Timeoutting is pure evilness. I would even make a warning message if it were up to me if someone wants to accept a timeoutter's game in the lobby "warning, player. This player happens to be letting the time out instead of resigning because he/she is a childish evil kid. Are you sure to accept this game?"
@Wjx2MyQvLW99sHmeCGQQ

Wow, what a rant, I didn't even read most of it, the length of the message and the lack of paragraph breaks hurts my eyes :/

I am not "unfair and childish". I was just telling you what the rules are. You don't like the rules on Lichess? Post a thread in Lichess Feedback asking for a rule change (though of course that will do nothing), or quit Lichess.

Don't take it out on me, I haven't done anything.
Okay don't read my reasoning who cares. I screwed 15 minutes of my life again to give voice to my opinion for chess players who don't even give a. This is how the chess players community is. You see you say your not childish but wont even read the other's letters. This forum is a joke. It was and it will be. I WONT WASTE ANY OF MY TIME HELPING YOU GUYS WITH MY UPCOMING IDEAS AND FEATURE REQUESTS FOR THE HELP OF THE SITE, because you are all ignorant but you bet, i will time out in my games thereafter. And guess what: I don't care. I won't READ *your letters too to give you back your ignorance.
