I had a mate in two yet my connection went out for half a minute and after I rejoined the game was 'abandoned'? When someone I play abandons a game I get a 70 second timer until I can pronounce my victory, is this how it's supposed to work? Seems pretty unfair. The game if somebody's interested:

I have several situations were my network would just disconnect and I lose. Lichess would say I left the game and starts to threaten me with a ban. Note that I live and work in an area where the internet is prone to disconnections. Sometimes, you may leave a game due to an emergency situations which are common if you are a busy parent. There are few other scenarios that might make you abandon a game that is not necessary because one is losing. Perhaps online chess is broken

If we can't continue a game we should resign.

How can one resign when the network disconnects? You are playing a game and you hear a loud gunshot and bullet piercing your window, do you still have time to resign before taking cover? These and many more frequent situations. More need to be done and considered before threatening someone with a ban. People need to be emotionally intelligent to know that no every one intentionally leaves a game. I am here to facilitate a solution to the problem and not argue for sake of arguing

I don't talk about disconnects and gunshots. Gunshots hardly happens often. But assisting children is not an excuse to run down the timer. In such situations we should resign and not let our opponent sit with boredom and frustration.

The moral of the story ultimately is: Don't play cheap traps such as Stafford Gambit. Don't fall into the "traps" of YouTubers.
