Why do you play chess?

I can't answer the question "Why do I play chess?"
And I want to answer that question.
Maybe I can learn from you answers.

I got a board game as a gift on my 6th birthday from my neighbor. I didn’t know how to play it. So I asked my dad and he tought me how to play chess. I play Chess to defeat my Friends in Inter-School tourneys.

Cause it’s entertaining
