@Lidraughtsorg Lol, that news article was just the first result that came up when googling. But all I've seen is “Oh, it's a news article, describing the findings of a study, so it must be wrong“ If you can tell me sth actually wrong with it, I will put more effort into giving you sources than picking the first result of a google search.

Also: Your first study measures the influence of different intellectual classes on economic growth. And it finds a correlation in one model, not a causation. But, as you are propably aware: Correlation isn't the same as causation.

I dont understand why the death of a single black dude excuses the riots and looting though. It would be much, much more decent to formally discuss the issue rather than destroying and vandalizing property in the dudes name.

I always thought chess people are throughout rational people with a very clear analytical mindset. It's surprising that a single tragic/brutal incident seems to emotionally overwhelm that rational chess part of their brains.
